EGG project aims to develop a unique folk art and culture based creative industry benefiting poor and marginalised rural and tribal communities living in six districts of the eastern Indian state of West Bengal namely Malda, Purulia, Bankura, West and East Medinipur and Nadia.

There will be six activity clusters of folk artists living in the six districts and practising a variety of folk dance, folk song, folk drama and folk painting. The artists will own and manage rural micro enterprises making up the activity clusters offering cultural products and services including heritage tourism services.
