The Womb is a nomadic multifunctional art & cultural venue that deconstructs the dividers and celebrates the diversity. The Womb offers a space for reflecting on the human condition and an opportunity for artists, intellectuals and scientists to showcase the benefits of a multicolored world. On diversity ¡
Celebration of cultural diversity through art can create new realities. By placing the artistic expressions in the very core of the Womb, the viewer is invited to reflect on our differences with the freshness of the fetus eyes. For the initiated viewer, ‘You’ and ‘I’ disappear leaving place to the connected and complex being that embraces the most contradicting views of the world. Objectives ¡- Bring together communities with conflicting views of the world to celebrate their differences through various means – art, science and culture ¡- Create affordable multipurpose mobile art venues - Introduce unknown or under-represented arts from developing countries to a wider international audience - facilitate transcultural art exchange programs. ¡
- Engage the local communities in the creation of the events: The Womb is not an imported / exotic show, it’s done by and for the local communities Opportunity of converging actors of change ART IS PERSUASIVE, THUS PEACE WILL BE MOST - The Womb aims to engage artists, intellectuals, scientists and opinion leaders in building collaboratively bridges between various communities. It also provides a unique opportunitity to address complex social issues comprehensively through multi-dimensional events that include art exhibition, performing art, poetry and litterarure, theater, social events, science conferences and public debates. - Build the Womb human backbone - a collaborative circle of artists, intellectuals, scholars and scientists. - Staged creation over 4 years 2008-2012 in 7 cities from 4 continents (Liverpool-Nice, Grahamstown, Istanbul-Dubai, Guadalajara, London) - Each year, a specific theme is addressed (culture, race, religion, economic and social divides) ¡- In each stage- 3 phases:
l1. Creative phase: International artists from different backgrounds meet for 2 weeks period to create collaboratively
l2. The Womb Show - this includes

Epilogue - Art is a universal language that encourages dialogue: effective art impacts the senses, speaks to the intuitive, arousing emotions and facilitating understanding, often provoking new insights and perspectives. - The inclusiveness breaks down barriers, builds bridges and fosters tolerance, acceptance and respect between communities and cultures - The Womb creates a social networking exchange program for artists worldwide, offering hospitality, shared knowledge and techniques, Host and guest artists are being brought together to create this concept, united within a vision that celebrates multi-culturalism. - History has shown that when differences are embraced, great enlightened civilisations burgeoned: The Ottoman Empire prospered by enriching its culture and technology with Christian and Jewish contributions, and the Iberian Peninsula shone in the Dark Ages through the interaction of Christians, Jewish and Muslim traditions.
