This strand will utilise the art, education and science to drive collaborations between young people from different ages and different cultural backgrounds. The aim of the strand is to transcend the cultural and ethnic divides and contribute through creative art collaboration, in persuading their friends, families and communities in the creation of more inclusive communities.
Some of the programmes that constitute MetaGeneration project include:
i. Decode me
This is a collaborative art workshop aimed at teenagers aged 11-17. It’s organized with the secondary school students. This programme will be developed with visual arts departments and selected secondary schools in the targeted cities.
The programme objective is to strengthen the knowledge of ‘others’ culture and to engage teens from various ethnic background to contribute in the inter-community dialogue
ii. Genome
This programme aimed at children aged 6-10. It is organized with multi-ethnic children organizations and intends to create collaborative art performances that develop awareness of inclusive practices and the culture of social justice.
ii. Neighbourhood
children aged 8 to 16, in collaboration with students in architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning, evaluate their neighbourhoods and propose physical transformations to improve outdoor spaces. The collaborative process makes it possible to understand how children perceive and use their neighbourhoods, to increase children's environmental knowledge and skills, and to introduce students to participatory design.
