This is a Collaborative dance programme that's a process in which artistic colleagues work jointly towards developing a successful production that aspires to PAX vision . This is achieved by the merging of ideas and pooling of resources.
It is rooted in the ideas and experience of the participants, that are then shaped and polished a choregrapher. By using IT platforms and Internet, it will transcend the geographic boundaries. The MetaDance programme hopes to be enlightening, enabling and encouraging for all those involved. MetaDance project hopes to initiate collaborative creations between dance companies and performers in target cities.

We are mainly interested in 2 aspects :

1. Mobility of creations - where dance companies exchange their creations and performances with each other for a faster and more economic way of sharing choreographies with the publics

2.Exploration of the Tele-immersive dance (TED) to bridge cultural, societal, and geographic gaps in the quest of making collaborative art.

The TEEVE Project (Tele-immersive Environment for EVErybody), a research project from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of California, Berkeley, is an immersive 3D video conferencing system with applications for dance.

From the site's video page, you can watch the video: "TEEVE: New Digital Options for Collaborative Dance in Geographically Distributed Tele-immersive Spaces."

While TED is still in its infancy, we believe it will have an interesting future and we aim to adopt it as a showcase for collaborative performances in our target cities.

PAX09 in South Africa will feature a showcase of TED in partnership with the University of Illinois' Dance Department.
