We would set up a giant 'Links' board. There would be five 'islands' on the board, (the partner cities) We would encourage people to think about how we are connected and draw in connections between the places and the themes. We will use it as a platform to dicuss with people how they think Liverpool and the other partner cities are connected with the world, historically and in the present day. (I have included a very basic representation below). Hopefully at the end of a day It would look a bit like a giant 'mind map' with hundreds of connections.
The activity is drop-in and suitable for all audiences. Rather than giving information, we encourage people present to dicuss what they think is important, and compare this with the other thoughts on the board. We will tell people about how we represent these kind of factors in a social history museum, and how they can access the museums and more information about the ideas discussed.
