Curtis Watt
Curtis, a.k.a. C-Zero, is a Liverpool born and based performance poet, actor, writer, musician and workshop leader. In 1993, a year after graduating from SCOPA with a Diploma In Theatre Studies, Curtis started writing and performing his own unique style of rap and poetry.
He has performed at the Liverpool Playhouse; Contact Theatre, Manchester; Canal House, Nottingham; Natal Technicon, South Africa; Nuyorican Poets Cafe and various venues in New York city 1998; and Poitiers Music Festival 1999.
Curtis was commissioned to write and perform “Message in a Bottle” for the Culture Company’s Hall of Faith celebration in 2004. He worked with National Museums Liverpool on development of poetry for the International Slavery Museum, and worked closely with Knowsley Arts Service on a racism and diversity awareness exhibition in response to the tragic murder of Anthony Walker.
For Black History Month 06 he wrote “Well of the Ancestors”, a short play about the legendary city of Timbuktu, which was shown at Liverpool and Manchester theatres as part of “The Amber Chronicles”.
