MetaGeneration project includes The Decode Me Workshop that will target secondary schools students aged 11-16 and hopes to create a deep understanding of their cultural differences while showcasing their unity through collaborative art creation. The Workshop will take place in the Black-E during the period 16/01- 23 /01/2009 and will involve the following schools:, Bluecoat (Anglican); Fazerkely Comp, Shorefields, Colderstones, Holly Lodge (Multifaith); King David (Jewish); St John's Boscoe, Belle Rive, Notre Dame (Catholic); Broadgreen (Multicultural).

The programme involves the participation of 11 schools from Liverpool. From our feasibility study which included surveying some of these institutions, we have recorder strong evidence of their interest in the project. They are anxious for an opportunity to celebrate of the cultural diversity within those age groups. The gap between highly eclectic private schools and disadvantaged state schools widens the misunderstanding between communities and adds to the already existent social divide.
The project Decode Me is an initiative that forces the divide to be bridged through the sharing of common human values, would set the path for collaboration between privileged and disadvantaged children and helps with the breaking down of stereotypes and misconceptions and enhances cross-communal cohesion.

Health and Safety and Child Protection issues

Planet Art eXchange has adopted a child protection and vulnerable adult policy and the project will be supervised by the schools and managed by a CRB accredited consultant who has a track record of organizing similar events with secondary schools and young people under the age of 18.
The Black-E is the venue where the project will be taking place has an excellent track record of over 30 years of community work with a significant history with children and young people in the area of visual and performing arts.
We have also adopted a Health and Safety policy and The Black-E has its own as well as a public liability insurance that will cover the needs of our project.

MetaGeneration projects help extending access and participation by encouraging more people to become actively involved in local groups and projects, and by supporting activities that aim to be open and accessible to everyone who wishes to take part.

The Decode-Me Workshop will be a significant contribution to the Womb project where 50m2 of artwork is to be produced by the participants representing the selected Secondary school students.
These works will be included in the Womb art installation and will take part in the touring programme.
