LITTERAURE

PRAYER

let it be
a love that stretches
to the horizon
before we fall
off
Val Walsh (2006)

The Loving Touch

There are people and situations that make you feel
not just competent, but radiant. And that orbital glow
becomes in turn a gift to others. The circle of human
sustainability; the web of connection that makes dreams and adventure possible; daring against all odds: reeking havoc with self-doubt, negativity, subjection.
The micropolitics
of social and political change
involves the loving touch.

Val Walsh (2008)

BY DEFINITION

 Conversation is not a race,
a test or competition.
It is not adversarial,
a struggle over spoils or power.
Neither ping-pong: shots aimed out of reach.
Nor point and counter point.
Side-by-side or opposite, we
are making a journey, together.
Listening, reflecting, sharing.
Staying open and receptive,
when the going gets rocky.
Taking a breather, but not
running off altogether. A
conversation is never final
or complete. Just interrupted,
put on hold.
More ‘I see’. ‘Maybe’, or
Well . . .’ Never ‘gottcha’.
